Asante Health Promotion’s popular beWell webinars return in April. The 2023 series takes on a midweek “Wellness Wednesday” vibe and will consist of eight topics exploring the eight dimensions of wellness — with a twist on how they relate to Asante.

The series will cover occupational, physical, environmental, social, spiritual, financial, intellectual and emotional wellbeing.

Each 30-minute Wellness Wednesday webinar consists of a 15-minute presentation followed by 15 minutes of discussion, questions and answers.

The 2023 webinar series, which begins April 5 and ends May 24, will be facilitated by internal and external Asante wellness professionals. They include:

  • Shea Quinn, patient experience and Provider Wellness Program coordinator for APP.
  • Kitty Sallas, Patient Experience Program coordinator for APP.
  • Taylor Stotts, Southern Oregon University intern.
  • Russ Hearing, chaplain with Asante Spiritual Services.
  • Alisa Cook, Tessa Hulse and Valencia Rollins, health educators with Asante Health Promotion.
  • Sean Pfister, training and development specialist with Human Resources.
  • Gary McCalla, MD, medical director of Emergency Services, AACH.

“Viewers can anticipate a variety of discussions,” said Alisia Cook, a health educator. “We aim to inspire to practical application of holistic wellness topics to take self-care routines to a higher level.”

The beWell webinars began in 2020 as a temporary alternative to the in-person education that was halted by COVID-19 restrictions. They quickly grew into a full-fledged educational series resulting in over 70 webinars with a 97% satisfaction rating from viewers surveyed.

The webinars are curated and available on myAsanteNET.  Those who don’t have 30 minutes to view any single webinar can access five-minute readable “Cliff Notes” to get the gist of each topic. The 2023 recordings will be made available in the library by early summer.

Participants can earn entries into a prize drawing for taking on specific growth efforts related to these varied, yet interdependent dimensions.

The winner will receive a robust self-care package that includes relaxing shower steamers, an inspirational quote mug, stress-relief tea, compression socks, a scalp massager, fidget toys, stress balls, a yoga mat, a self-care journal with Asante pens, intensive care hand cream, a beWell water bottle and more.

An adaptation of the “Show You Grow” challenge will be used for participants to qualify for the Wellness Wednesday webinar self-care package drawing.

Those who want to take on the self-care ideas and track them for seven days will earn one entry per webinar topic. You can earn up to eight entries during the series. Submissions are accepted April 12 through June 5.

Those who want to keep going after seven days can track their self-care activities for 28 days and submit their entries for a quarterly $100 Tango gift card drawing. Those submissions are accepted through Dec. 31, with no limit on submissions.
