8 dimensions of wellness

Asante Health Promotion’s popular beWell webinars return in April. The 2023 series takes on a midweek “Wellness Wednesday” vibe and will consist of eight topics exploring the eight dimensions of wellness — with a twist on how they relate to Asante.

The series will cover occupational, physical, environmental, social, spiritual, financial, intellectual and emotional wellbeing.

Each 30-minute Wellness Wednesday webinar consists of a 15-minute presentation followed by 15 minutes of discussion, questions and answers.

The 2023 webinar series, which begins April 5 and ends May 24, will be facilitated by internal and external Asante wellness professionals. They include:

  • Shea Quinn, patient experience and Provider Wellness Program coordinator for APP.
  • Kitty Sallas, Patient Experience Program coordinator for APP.
  • Taylor Stotts, Southern Oregon University intern.
  • Russ Hearing, chaplain with Asante Spiritual Services.
  • Alisa Cook, Tessa Hulse and Valencia Rollins, health educators with Asante Health Promotion.
  • Sean Pfister, training and development specialist with Human Resources.
  • Gary McCalla, MD, medical director of Emergency Services, AACH.

“Viewers can anticipate a variety of discussions,” said Alisia Cook, a health educator. “We aim to inspire to practical application of holistic wellness topics to take self-care routines to a higher level.”

The beWell webinars began in 2020 as a temporary alternative to the in-person education that was halted by COVID-19 restrictions. They quickly grew into a full-fledged educational series resulting in over 70 webinars with a 97% satisfaction rating from viewers surveyed.

The webinars are curated and available on myAsanteNET.  Those who don’t have 30 minutes to view any single webinar can access five-minute readable “Cliff Notes” to get the gist of each topic. The 2023 recordings will be made available in the library by early summer.
