FAQs: Asante Rogue Regional pavilion
The new plan, once the pavilion opens, allows for plenty of staff and visitor parking and provides spaces for surgeons and trauma teams near the operating suites.

There are four stairwells; all will require some level of badge access.
- Stairwell 1, Lobby: This is the public stairwell. It reaches all floors, but badge access will be required to enter the Olsrud Family Women’s and Children’s Hospital on Floors 5 and 6 to protect moms and babies. There also will be a gate preventing anyone from taking this stairwell to the Ground Floor. We don’t want anyone but staff on the Ground Floor.
- Stairwell 2, northwest corner: Badge-access only to all floors except Floor 1. It does not access Floor 1 but does provide egress to the outside on that level.
- Stairwell 3, southeast corner: Badge-access only to all floors. Provides entry and egress for surgical and trauma teams on Floor 1.
- Stairwell 4, north side: Provides egress to P1 parking garage from Ground Floor.
There are five elevators (10 elevator cars total) in the pavilion, and they all have different uses.
Elevator A (public): Located in the lobby of the new main entrance, called Entrance A. Four cars service all floors but Ground without needing badge access. Do not direct family/visitors to the pavilion basement; that is not how they will access the cafeteria. They will cross the lobby on Floor 1 and use Elevator F (the old Elevator A).
Patient transport: Two cars, located off-stage. Badge-access only to all floors. Staff will be given access according to their work needs.
Staff/materials: Two cars, located off-stage. Badge access only to all floors. Staff will be given access according to their work needs.
Clean elevator: One car, located off-stage. Runs between surgery on Floor 1 and Central Sterile Processing on the Ground Floor. Will be used to transport clean linen and sterile equipment to surgery. Badge-access only according to work needs.
Soiled elevator: One car, located off-stage. Runs between surgery on Floor 1 and Central Sterile Processing on the Ground Floor. Will be used for transporting soiled linen and soiled patient equipment to prevent cross-contamination of items and patients. Badge-access only according to work needs.
Feb. 3, 2024
Here is a proposed timeline but not yet set in stone. Departments are still working through logistics.
Floor 1: Feb. 3
Floors 3 and 4: Feb. 4
Floors 5 and 6: Feb. 5
As needed: Feb. 6
Below are the departments moving into the pavilion, floor by floor.
Dec. 20, but it could be sooner if inspections, licenses and equipment delivery complete on time and the stars align.
Team members whose units are moving into the pavilion will take in-person tours and do training throughout November and December. A schedule will be released when it’s finalized.
Other hospital employees may take virtual tours before opening, as the timeframe is tight for tours while construction is still finishing up.
Yes. Unit champions, leaders and representatives from ancillary and support departments will participate in dress rehearsals to validate workflow processes and space functionality. There also will be department-specific orientation in each of the units that will include training and scavenger hunts.
Dress rehearsal dates
- Technical: Nov. 27, Dec. 14, Jan. 2
- Clinical: Dec. 13 and Jan. 16
— updated from previous version
Yes. The move will be generally like-for-like, meaning little change in the number of active patient beds until units are fully staffed and acclimated to the new environment.
Renovations of the old spaces will begin as soon as the move-in is complete and take about 15 months. Here’s a quick breakdown:
Ground Floor
- Morgue: The morgue will relocate to where Sterile Processing is now. The new morgue will include separate body holding, viewing and autopsy areas as well as a six-compartment refrigerated unit.
Floor 1
- Endoscopy, Short Stay and Cath Labs move to where the operating suites used to be. Endo prep-recovery rooms will increase from 11 to 24 and endo procedure rooms will increase from five to eight. Cath labs will expand from four to six, with the option of adding two more in the future.
Floor 3
- An Extended Recovery Unit of 16 private rooms will be built and Cardiovascular Recovery will move and expand from 14 prep/recovery rooms to 27 where ICU used to be. A direct elevator will connect the cath labs on Floor 1 to Cardiovascular Recovery.
Yes, the Roxy Ann Gift Shop and Café will be in the Lobby on Floor 1. The Pear Blossom Café and gift shop space at Entrance C will close once the pavilion opens. There also will be a Sky View Snacks bar on Floor 5.
No. ARRMC’s existing kitchen/cafeteria will serve the entire hospital.
Yes. It will be the new Entrance A and we will no longer call it the pavilion. Here’s a breakdown of how each of the hospital entrances will be used:
- Patients, visitors, laboring moms: Entrance A.
- Flowers, food, Amazon, blood and medical supply deliveries: Entrance C.
- Discharge lounge patient pickup and cardiac rehab patients: Entrance B.
- Ambulance arrivals: Emergency Department.
