Southern Oregon Success, Southern Oregon ACEs Training Team
Peter Buckley

Peter Buckley joined Southern Oregon Success in 2016 as he transitioned from his role as the state representative for south Jackson County in the Oregon House of Representatives, where he served for six terms.

His legislative tenure included eight years as the House co-chair of the Joint Committee on Ways & Means, the Legislature’s budget writing committee. Prior to his tenure in the Oregon Legislature, Buckley worked for over 20 years as a writer, director, actor, producer and administrator in West Coast regional theatre, including five years as the artistic director of the Ferndale Repertory Theatre and six years as the director of the Dell ‘Arte International School of Physical Theatre.

He began his work with Southern Oregon Success just as the collaboration was moving into a leadership role in the region’s efforts on ACEs (the Adverse Childhood Experiences study) and Resilience. Peter trained with ACE Interface to qualify as a certified master trainer in the NEAR curriculum (Neurobiology, Epigenetics, ACEs and Resilience) and serves as both a trainer and the administrator for the Southern Oregon ACEs Training team.

The team has presented more than 500 sessions for over 17,500 participants in the region since 2016. Trainings continue to be offered by the team at no cost, and can be scheduled by emailing Buckley.
