Epic analyst’s roots run deep at Asante

Zack Andrews learned the value of community ties when his wife and father were treated for cancer.

Zack Andrews’ story begins with the tall cedars that line the street along Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. It’s the hospital he was born in. The hospital where his wife would be treated for an aggressive cancer, and where just two years later his father would be cared for.

As part of Asante’s Our Roots Run Deep advertising campaign, Andrews shares his very literal Asante roots and his journey from employee to family member whose loved ones were cared for at ARRMC.

Andrews’ life journey took him to other towns in other states, but the lure of family and Southern Oregon’s majestic landscape brought him home — and to Asante, where he cares for patients in his own way as a computer analyst.

One day, his father mentioned something Andrews never knew. Those trees out in front? The elder Andrews had planted them more than 40 years earlier as a gesture of thanks for the care his wife had received while delivering Zack’s older brother.

Now Andrews sees the trees as part of his family’s legacy — and a living testament to the strength that comes from roots that run deep.
