Asante Security recognized for supporting citizen soldiers
Security supervisor Jason Libby and ARRMC were recently honored with a Patriot Award by the U.S. Department of Defense for supporting citizen soldiers.
The award was presented by Rick McReynolds of the Area 4 Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve during a short ceremony Dec. 12 at ARRMC attended by Security staff and ARRMC CEO Win Howard.
Libby was nominated by Security Officer Robert Fries, a sergeant first class with the Oregon Army National Guard, for both scheduling and recognizing the value of military experience when evaluating qualifications for promotions.
“Jason’s really helpful in making sure we can still do our active-duty requirements while also making sure that the office still has everybody it needs,” Fries said. “And he makes sure all the military guys get recognized for their experience.”
More than half a dozen Guard members who served at ARRMC during the COVID pandemic came to work for the hospital in Security, EVS and other units, Libby said before the ceremony. “I tell guys that hospital security is the best because you see everything. When I interview employees, I tell them, ‘I don’t know what security work you’ve done before, but this is by far going to be the best job you’ve ever had.’”
