Erick Edtl has accepted the position of director and chief Compliance and Privacy officer for Asante. Edtl joined Asante in June 2021 as a Compliance and Privacy analyst and later became interim Compliance and Privacy officer after the departure of Andrea Tenbrink, who left for a position with Yale Medicine in November.
“During the interview process, our team quickly realized no external candidate came close to Erick’s expertise and cultural fit,” said Kristen Roy, Asante’s legal officer and general counsel. “His calm, collaborative and ethical approach to problem-solving will help him succeed in this important role.”
Edtl has more than a decade of health care experience, serving in various roles in compliance, revenue cycle, information systems and public relations. Prior to Asante, he held compliance and privacy officer positions at Samaritan Health Services and Samaritan Health Plans in Corvallis.
He graduated magna cum laude from Oregon State University and received his graduate certificate in health care compliance from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He also holds certification in health care compliance, privacy and security through the Healthcare Compliance Association.
Edtl was born and raised in Oregon, and in his free time enjoys spending time with his young daughter, JoJo, golfing and salmon fishing.
