Terry Croft couldn’t have known that when she bought a new pair of winter gloves, they would bring so much more than warmth. When a patient arrived for her appointment after walking the steep hill to the internal medicine clinic near Asante Ashland Community Hospital, Croft reached out to take her hands. They were so cold that Croft was alarmed. She reached into her desk, pulled out her new gloves and gave them to the patient.
This was just one of the selfless gestures that have earned Croft, a patient experience representative at APP–Internal medicine in Ashland, the Spotlight of Excellence award.
“Terry takes pride in providing timely access and going that extra mile to deliver superior patient care,” said Jamie Grebosky, MD, chief medical officer. “She is passionate about forming personal connections with patients and making a lasting impression on their lives.”
Colleagues admire the way Croft cares about patients and her dedication to providing a positive experience to everyone she encounters. Her reliability and willingness to lean in and lend a helping hand make her a pillar to her practice.
“Please join me,” Dr. Grebosky said, “in congratulating and thanking Terry for all she has done for our patients and APP.”
This award is granted to an APP employee who has improved access to care, quality of care, financial stewardship or Asante’s behavioral standards.
Recipients receive a hand-written card from the division director, a cafeteria gift card and the opportunity to share what they do to contribute to APP’s high standards of care.
