A message from Scott Kelly, president and CEO
In my 20-plus years at Asante, I’ve learned to never underestimate the resilience, dedication and determination of our employees. In the past 24 hours while facing an extreme fire catastrophe like nothing we’ve experienced before, I’ve witnessed the incredible lengths to which you will go to ensure the safety of our community, our patients and each other.
You came to work during mandatory evacuations. You stayed at work after your shift was over. You helped at other facilities to provide coverage. You prepared to put patients in your car to drive them to safety. And sadly, many of you experienced the great emotional loss of your home and property.
Words cannot adequately express my gratitude for all your efforts and my heartfelt sadness for your losses.
Asante is a family, and as a family, we will help care for and provide support for each other. Our staff and others have set up several resources for housing, food, clothing, financial relief and emotional support. I encourage you to talk with your manager on how to access these resources to get the help you may need.
There’s no doubt these extreme fire events come at a challenging and stressful time while we’re also coping with a pandemic. It’s times like these that your ability to overcome adversity shines brightest.
As our community strives to rebuild from both these events, please know that Asante will be with you, your family and our community every step of the way.
