Asante scales back entrance screening

Some entrances will have limited screener presence while others have removed screening altogether.

The hours that screeners are present at visitor entrances to our hospitals and outpatient locations were reduced on Saturday, March 19. The change allows Asante to move staff previously working as screeners into other areas within the health system, while maintaining a screener presence during the busiest visitation times.

Visitors may still enter our buildings when a screener is not present. Masks are required to be worn while in our facilities and are available at visitor entrances.

  • Nursing staff policing visitors is very difficult. It’s one thing to have to make sure everyone is following the masking policy, but keeping track of visitors and making sure the visitor policy is being followed is a burden on our staff.
