“It’s kind”: A building designed with patients in mind

Asante Foundation’s Christian Gold Stagg gives visitors a look inside the Heimann Cancer Center under construction in Medford.
An artist’s rendering shows Heimann Cancer Center’s light-filled atrium.

From its advanced technology to its sweeping views of Southern Oregon’s landscape, the Heimann Cancer Center will be a place for both treatment and healing.

The nearly 80,000-square-foot center at East Barnett Road and Doctors Park Drive in Medford will house all outpatient cancer services for one-stop patient convenience, including radiation therapy, infusion services, education and support services.

The $64 million project began in February 2020 and is expected to be completed by January 2022. It joins the Spears Cancer Center in Grants Pass as part of the Asante Regional Cancer Institute. Asante Foundation is raising more than $10 million toward the institute as part of its AsanteForward campaign.
