These tips and tools may help you rejoin the world

After months of stress and in some cases isolation, returning to activities may feel anything but normal. MyStrength can help.

There’s no doubt this past year and a half has been stressful, and returning to activities after so long can feel strange. It’s OK to take care of yourself.

Here are some self-care tips:

  • Breathe. When we’re anxious, we tend to take rapid, shallow breaths. Inhale through your nose for 4 seconds, then exhale from your mouth for 4 seconds. Repeat this pattern a couple of times and notice how you feel when you’re done.
  • Make gradual changes. Taking things slowly can help you adjust. If going to a busy grocery store is too much, go at a less busy time and grab only a few things you need.

MyStrength has an activity that can help you get started. Find your calm with “The Mindful Check-In,” a series of online exercises that can help you calm your stress and regain emotional balance.

For more information and to view additional resources that are available, go to mystrength.com or download the myStrength app from your mobile device’s app store. If you are signing up for the first time and are prompted for an access code, enter 10017473.

If you have any questions, you can email Asante Benefits or call (541) 789-4551. You can also submit a case in the Ask HR section of myHR.
