Challenging negative thoughts can be hard but keeping things in perspective may help get you through tough times. Research has found that by reframing our thoughts we can bring about optimism, which is beneficial to health and wellbeing.

Self-care tips
- Identify negative thoughts. Watch out for “should” statements (“I should have done better”) and “all-or-nothing” thinking (“I’m a complete failure”).
- Replenish your joy. Restore your energy with activities you enjoy, such as listening to music or visiting friends.
- Turn to someone you trust. Going through a tough time? Try to open up to a friend or family member. Talking to a therapist also can help.
