Cheney Family Place is taking guests again

The house offers lodgings for family members of patients hospitalized at Asante Rogue Regional.

The Francis Cheney Family Place in Medford is operational again after being closed for potential COVID housing as well as a flood in the building. It is now screening guests and taking COVID precautions, which include sanitizing rooms and common areas.

Room turnarounds will take longer due to a 24-hour sanitizing between guests.

If you leave a voicemail requesting a room, include the following information:

  • The names of the potential guest and number of family members who need to stay
  • The guest’s phone number
  • The name and room number of the patient in hospital
  • The name and phone extension of person referring

Manager Sharon Young asks that staff not tell families that Cheney Place lodgings are free. “We request a $50 per-night contribution, but work with everyone’s situation,” she said. “In keeping with our mission, we do not turn anyone away for inability to pay.”

The Cheney Place is located on the corner of State Street and Murphy Road near Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center.
