Physicians come together to encourage COVID-19 vaccinations
In what may be the region’s most ambitious public service announcement, 26 providers from 11 local practices and organizations took part in a video promoting COVID-19 vaccines.
The project was led by Scott Nelson, DO, a surgeon with APP’s General and Colorectal Surgery clinic in Grants Pass, and produced by AllCare Health.
Six physicians from APP joined others from the Grants Pass Clinic, Mountainview Family Practice, Siskiyou Community Health, Siskiyou Pediatric Clinic, C Street Dental, Cascade Eye Center, Johnston Dental Care, Rogue River Family Practice, Wellspring Family Practice and Josephine County Public Health.
In the video, physicians explain the process of immunity, the nature of vaccines in general and the safety and efficacy of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. (The Johnson & Johnson came to market after the video was produced.)
The purpose was to use trusted sources — medical experts — to educate the general public on the COVID-19 vaccines and to allay common fears about vaccine safety.
“You have trusted providers in our community to fix broken bones … treat high blood pressure and many other health problems,” said David Candelaria, MD, a hospitalist at AACH and public health officer for Josephine County. “Trust us now that we have the best interests of this community in mind. The vaccine is safe, effective and will protect your community. We urge you to receive the vaccine as it becomes available.”

This is a great video. Thank you.
Thank you for this! I would encourage sharing this with our RN/CNA travel team along with instructions on how they can access the vaccinations.
