Epic upgrade includes new features

A new registration navigator and easy-to-find help button improve ease of use.

Epic’s semi-annual upgrade on May 11 includes some new features, including registration navigators and the Epic help button. The Epic training team would like to make sure everyone is ready for these changes.

EpicRegistration navigators are a new format within registration workflows, such as demographics, guarantor and coverages. These navigators replace our current folder system of storing patient and encounter-level information. Any user who currently uses a registration screen in their workflow will see the new navigators. Registration navigators will be available in Epic PRD on May 11, but you can get a sneak peek by going to Epic PLY (playground).

The Epic Help button allows you to submit a noncritical Epic-related problem or complaint, or to request training from within Epic. The button appears in the upper right corner of your screen. The request is sent to the Epic training team through the Service Now portal. The Epic Help button will be available only in Epic PRD on May 11.

To learn more about these new features:

  • Search for registration navigator modules on ALEC/HealthStream.
  • Log into Epic PLY (playground) at any time to preview registration navigators.
  • Review the Epic Help button tip sheet.
