APP reopens orthopedic surgery in Grants Pass
Asante Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine in Grants Pass is seeing patients again starting this month.
Located in the Asante Outpatient Center on the ATRMC campus, the clinic features two new orthopedic surgeons, Patrick Dawson, MD, and Tamara Simpson, MD, and a familiar face, Daniel Wieking, MD. The three surgeons are joined by orthopedic physician assistant Ryan Wehmann, PA-C, who is also returning to the clinic.

Dr. Dawson earned his medical degree from Loyola University School of Medicine in Chicago. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland and Sports Medicine Fellowship at Congress Medical Associates in Pasadena. Dr. Dawson has been board-certified in orthopedic surgery since 2009.
Dr. Simpson earned her medical degree and completed her internship and residency at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. She completed her fellowships in sports medicine at University of California San Francisco and orthopedic trauma surgery at Hennepin Medical Center in Minneapolis. She is board-certified in orthopedic surgery.
Dr. Wieking received his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego, in La Jolla and completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. After his residency he had additional fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery at Melbourne Orthopedics Group in Australia.
Ryan Wehman earned his physician assistant degree at Philadelphia University and is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. He specializes in orthopedic care.
