More paycheck? Yes, please
Because Asante pays biweekly, employees get the gift of a third paycheck this month with fewer deductions.
Asante employees enrolled in benefits will see fewer deductions on their Sept. 29 paycheck. When there are three paychecks in a particular month, the third paycheck will not have all of the deductions.
This is because the deductions, with the exception of the retirement plan contributions, are on a semimonthly schedule. This includes deductions for the flexible spending accounts and health savings accounts. You will, however, still see taxes deducted, including the tax for Paid Leave Oregon.
Employees who are receiving premium assistance (given based on hourly wage and medical coverage level) also will not see that earning on that paycheck as it corresponds to the medical deduction. Deductions and any associated earnings will resume with the Oct. 13 paycheck.
