Want to advance your career? Become an LPN

Licensed practical nurses are needed for Asante cancer services and other areas of high growth.

As Asante continues to grow, the need for dedicated caregivers has never been greater.

Certified nursing assistants and medical assistants who want to advance in their profession are encouraged to consider training as a licensed practical nurse. Coursework takes about a year to 18 months and current employees could apply for tuition reimbursement to cover some of the education costs.

LPNs work closely with an interdisciplinary care team. Their duties include patient rounding, taking vital signs, obtaining medical history, reviewing patient medications and other responsibilities. LPNs can earn $24 to $30 an hour.

Among other needs, Asante is looking to fully staff its expanding cancer services, which include infusion services, radiation oncology and imaging. The Heimann Cancer Center in Medford and the expanded Spears Cancer Center in Grants Pass open this month.

“We are currently looking for LPNs in various departments throughout Asante,” said Tami Garcia, talent consultant. “Keep a lookout for our upcoming LPN positions within the hospital. If you are interested in joining our skilled nursing team in the cancer center, reach out to our nurse recruiters to chat about the various nursing opportunities.”

Employees are also urged to refer interested candidates through the Asante referral program.
