For the second year in a row and the sixth time overall, Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center has been named a 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospital in the nation by Fortune/IBM. Additionally, Asante Rogue Regional placed No. 1 among the top 10 community hospitals that made the list.

“This recognition is truly about our patients and the community,” said Mick Zdeblick, CEO of Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. “Their safety and well-being are at the core of everything we do. Our heart care teams provide the high-quality, compassionate care we’d want for our own families.”

This year’s study included 980 U.S. hospitals with cardiovascular services. They were evaluated on several key performance indicators: clinical outcomes, including inpatient and 30-day mortality; medical complications; 30-day readmission rates; average lengths of stay in the hospital; operational efficiency; and patient experience.

“This Top 50 achievement is a testament to the dedication of our employees and physicians who continually strive for excellence in cardiovascular patient care,” said Jamie Grebosky, MD, senior vice president and chief medical and quality officer at Asante. “In spite of the challenges the pandemic has created in health care, our teams have not been deterred from providing our patients with the best heart care possible.”

Since 1973, physicians at Asante Rogue Regional have performed more than 20,500 open-heart surgeries and over 18,500 coronary interventions (i.e., stents and balloon angioplasties), and have implanted nearly 12,000 pacemakers and defibrillators.

“Through collaboration and the implementation of best practices such as opening a heart failure clinic to improve patient outcomes, we have found that creating efficiencies helps improve operations, and more importantly, saves lives,” said Mark Moran, MD, a cardiologist with Southern Oregon Cardiology.

As a 39 year old Heart Patient with an ICD, I will not go anywhere else. I’ve been shocked by my ICD and will take an extra couple to get over to Asante before anywhere else.
