I am pleased to announce some changes in the Human Resources Department. Effective immediately, Barbara McClung, Anja Rink and Stockton Spooner have recently been promoted from supervisor to manager.
With the increasing demands on Asante’s retention and recruiting efforts, the scope of work for Compensation, Benefits and the HR Information Systems teams has greatly expanded. These role changes will better support the organization in meeting its strategic goals, which include creating a strong workforce for the future.
Barbara McClung is now manager over Asante’s benefit functions, which include our medical, dental and vision plans; retirement; short- and long-term disability; EAP; reimbursement programs and more.
An Asante employee for seven years, she has been instrumental in enhancing many of our key benefit offerings. She holds an associate degree in nursing and a bachelor’s in business administration from Southern Oregon University.
Anja Rink, Human Resources Information Security supervisor, is now HRIS manager. Rink oversees myHR and all HR system compliance functions. In her 12 years with Asante, she has led HR teams through two HRIS system implementations. She and her team partner with key stakeholders in Finance, Materials Management and ITS to align system functions and provide employees with important information at their fingertips.
Rink liked school so much she did everything twice. She has two high school diplomas (one from South Medford High School and another from a German high school). She earned a bachelor’s degree from a German university in 2000 and a second from Southern Oregon University.
Stockton Spooner has moved from Compensation supervisor to manager. He has been with Asante since 2017 and under his direction, HR implemented the first compensation system that consolidates the various salary surveys into reportable data that can easily be accessed at any time.
Spooner grew up in Beaverton and completed a bachelor’s in business administration and marketing from Western Oregon University.
Cassie Payton, manager of Employee Relations and Absence Management, will remain in her current role supporting numerous organizational initiatives, including implementation of Paid Leave Oregon. Each of the newly promoted managers will continue to report to Alicia Lorenz, director of HR Administration and Employee Relations.
Please join me in congratulating all their accomplishments and their new roles.
