Here are a few rules:

  1. The window frame, panes or sill must be visible in the photo.
  2. Describe what we’re seeing and where and when the picture was taken. (“View of my garden in Grants Pass, 11 a.m. June 13.” “Aboard a cruise ship in Alaska, 6 a.m., July 5,” etc.) Entries taken earlier than 2022 or without a location, time and date, may be rejected.

  4. Photos should be sent as an attachment .jpg and not embedded in the body of your email or other document.

Photography pro tips

Clean the glass.

Turn off your flash to prevent glare.

Turn off interior lights that might reflect in the glass.

Avoid taking the picture when the sun is shining directly through the window.

Professional photographers use polarizing filters. If you know what those are you’re halfway there.
