Resources available to help parents with children in K-12

With the new school year, Asante offers resources to help employees with school-age children find child care and distance learning resources.

Father working from homeThe pandemic has created a constantly evolving discussion about what the new school year will look like for students. This uncertainty has parents of school-age children looking for help.

Asante employees have a valuable tool and several resources available to help navigate child care and other family-related needs. Whether it’s after-school care, caring for a child who is home sick or while you’re working from home, or the responsibility for aging parents, you may need additional support — sometimes at a moment’s notice.

Asante has partnered with Care.com to offer family care benefits for eligible employees to ease some of these stresses. With a Care.com membership, you have unlimited access to its website to find your ongoing care needs for children, seniors, pets, your home and more.

Backup care for children: This provides access to in-home or in-center vetted and subsidized care for your children when your regular care is not available. Use backup care for school holidays, last-minute sitter cancellations, if your child is sick or for other reasons. You have 10 backup care days per year to use for either child or adult backup care.

Backup child care co-pays are:
• $6 an hour for in-home child care
• $10 per day, per child, for in-center child care

Backup care for adults: This includes rides to doctor appointments, help recovering from surgery, meal prep, care for when regular adult care isn’t available and more. Even if a parent lives across the country, this service can help. You have 10 backup care days per year to use for either a child or an adult.

Backup adult care co-pays are:
• $6 an hour for in-home adult care

Enroll now at asante.care.com to access these benefits, using your employee ID number to register. Make sure to download the Care@Work mobile app to quickly request backup care on the go.

If you’re struggling to find child care or distance learning resources, please email Roxanne Brown to learn more about other available resources.
