Moving in ways that are enjoyable is a fantastic way to get exercise and gain various health benefits. The Prove You Move Summer and Fall Challenge is designed to add incentive for extra activities that go above and beyond routine exercise. What’s new? Participants must get moving outside.

There are so many amazing ways to get extra activity. The intention of this seasonal challenge is to encourage everyone to keep moving, no matter the weather, and explore options that align with your lifestyle. Past Prove You Move Challenges have spotlighted community events that take place around the Rogue Valley. This included all hiking, biking, running, marathon and triathlon events. Participants of community events would email Asante Health Promotion with the details and photos as proof of participation. For each event, they’d be granted an entry into prize drawings.

In the era of COVID-19, not many community events are happening. This doesn’t have to be an obstacle to participating in the Prove You Move Summer and Fall Challenge. Virtual events are taking place, trail heads are open. The sky’s the limit. Anyone who logs activity of over 3.1 miles (5K) can qualify for Health Promotion’s quarterly prize drawing for a $100 gift card. It’s never been a better time to be outside and breathing fresh air.

What counts:
If it’s a hike, snap a pic near the trail head marker or at the summit. If it’s a run or walk, send a screenshot of your app’s run summary. If it’s a bike ride, send us a screenshot of your ride summary from a bike app. Remember, this is for distance of 5K or more.

What doesn’t count:
Daily Fitbit step totals. Normal gym workouts or indoor stationary machine activities. Remember, the point is to get outside, moving and connecting with nature.

The more you Prove you Move between now and the end of fall (Dec. 21), the better your chances of winning. Send qualifying entries to He*************@as****.org.

Congratulations!

These are the quarterly beWell drawing winners:

Marva, I’m sure that Health Promotion will work with you. Maybe email them at He*************@as****.org?

    • Thanks for your comment. Apps are cool because they show us distance and duration info. However, if anyone does not use apps, they just need the ability to take pics. We’ll accept entries “on your honor” and we look forward to seeing your pics, Marva.
