OHA lifts COVID-19 vaccination mandate

CMS-certified hospitals still must meet federal vaccination requirements.

On Thursday, May 11, Oregon Health Authority lifted its statewide COVID-19 vaccination mandate for health care workers, the same day the federal government ended its COVID-19 public health emergency.

However, the federal government’s vaccination requirement for COVID-19 is still in effect for CMS-certified health care facilities, which includes all three Asante hospitals.

The U.S. Department of Human Services announced it is beginning the process to end the federal COVID-19 vaccination requirements for health care facilities.

Once those details are made available, Asante will inform our employees of how this will impact our organization and the next steps and timeline.

For now, though, the COVID-19 vaccination requirement and approved exceptions to the vaccination are still in place for employees.
