Two more popular events are canceled this year due to COVID-19 concerns. For visitor safety, Asante Rogue Regional’s Miracle Baby Reunion, which brings together families and children who were cared for in the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, will not take place on campus this fall.

“As you can imagine, this was a very difficult decision,” said Michelle Cathcart, NICU clinical manager. “But safety for our former NICU patients takes priority.” The staff is brainstorming other ways to celebrate that might involve video clips, social media and other electronic formats.

In Ashland, the Old-Fashioned 4th of July Celebration was canceled for the first time in its 100-year history. The state’s reopening rules prohibit public gatherings of more than 12 people. Asante has been a lead sponsor of the parade for several years and frequent participant.
