ZdeblickFive years ago, I helped welcome Mick Zdeblick as the new CEO of Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. Now, I’m informing you of his departure. Mick is leaving Asante for an opportunity in Southern California; his last day will be in January.

Mick started at Asante in  2017, integrating his management style of direct, transparent communication into the ARRMC culture. During his tenure, he has overseen the building of two cancer centers, vastly elevating what Asante offers to our community. The full service, integrated cancer care concept became a reality just this year in both Jackson and Josephine counties.

Under Mick’s leadership, construction of the new addition to ARRMC started under the most stressful years of the pandemic. In spite of this, he kept the project moving forward toward its planned completion date of December 2023.

“I’m extremely proud of my time with Asante,” Mick says. “As a team we weathered the pandemic, continued to provide quality care for our community and accomplished many important strategic goals. Stay Asante!”

With Mick’s departure, plans are being made for an interim executive leader to fill the role. Once Scott Kelly has returned from his leave of absence, Asante’s leadership structure will be fully assessed to determine the permanent leadership solutions of the future.

Mick’s leadership will be missed at Asante and welcomed at Community Memorial Health in Ventura where he will serve as president and CEO. Please join me in wishing Mick and his family well as they begin their next adventure.
