Longtime executive assistant Rae Bowers to retire

She is succeeded by Cherie Zarbo, who will assist ARRMC CEO Mick Zdeblick.
Rae Bowers

Rae Bowers, who has worked at Asante for 33 years, will retire on April 11. Bowers initially worked in Human Resources before moving to ARRMC Administration in 1991. During that time she supported eight top executives at ARRMC.

Asked how she could stay so long in one job, she explained she got a new boss every four or five years, so it was like having a new position. Bowers is looking forward to this new chapter in her life, with plans to design and landscape a “rather large, barren backyard,” travel, exercise at a reasonable hour of the day (not 5 a.m.) and of course, frequent the local wineries.

“Join me in congratulating Rae on her retirement,” said Mick Zdeblick, ARRMC’s chief executive.

Cherie Zarbo

Bowers is succeeded by Cherié Zarbo, who joined Asante on March 14 from South Carolina where she worked remotely as the senior administrative assistant for Target Enterprises. Before that she worked for Oregon Health & Science University in the Center for Hematologic Malignancies among other health-related organizations.

Joining her in Southern Oregon are her husband, Greg, and son, Kyle. She enjoys hiking, working out, drawing, movies, eating good food and spending time with family and friends. She can be reached via email or at (541) 789-4166.
