Holly Nickerson joins Asante’s executive ranks

A former CNA, then a nurse, she becomes vice president of Quality and Patient Safety on Jan. 3

To continue Asante’s advancement in achieving excellence in quality and patient safety, the Quality Department will have a new reporting structure. Effective Jan. 3, Holly Nickerson, director of Quality Management, will assume the role of vice president of Quality and Patient Safety. This change will allow focused efforts to support the health system, and for continued growth and development of Asante’s clinical quality efforts.

In her new role, Nickerson will oversee Infection Prevention, Performance Improvement, Risk Management and Accreditation Services, including the STEMI, stroke and bariatric programs. She will report to Jamie Grebosky, MD,  chief medical and quality officer. The director of Quality Management position will not be backfilled at this time.

Nickerson has been with Asante since 2006, starting as a certified nursing assistant, cardiac intensive care RN, cardiac intensive care clinical coordinator, coordinator of continuous improvement, and director of Accreditation. Holly holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Oregon Health & Science University, a master’s in business administration in healthcare management from OHSU and Portland State University, and is working toward a PhD in executive nursing leadership from Baylor University.

In her spare time Holly is an active member in the Southern Oregon community, coaching youth soccer and serving as a board member for the Rogue Valley Timbers Soccer club.

“Please join me in welcoming Holly to her new executive leadership role,” Dr. Grebosky said in a memo to leaders on Thursday.
