Gwen Bratton retires after nearly 30 years

Employees may know her best as “Vanna” for her 10 years operating the prize wheel at the annual Employee Communication and Engagement Fair.

Asante corporate offices said goodbye to longtime executive assistant Gwen Bratton, who retired on Friday after 29 years with Asante.

Employees may know her best as “Vanna” for her 10 years operating the prize wheel at the annual Employee Communication and Engagement Fair. Bratton, who served as executive assistant Greg Wojtal, chief administrative and financial officer, earned the prestigious Annual Values in Action award in 2014.

Bratton started at Josephine Memorial Hospital, what now is known as Asante Three Rivers Community Hospital, as a patient registrar. She served as different assistants throughout the organization. She eventually ended up in the Asante corporate finance department as an executive assistant.

Asked on how she plans to spend her time in retirement, Bratton said she looks forward to working in her yard and visiting with family, when she is finally able to.

“I want to thank Gwen for all the work she has done for me, the department and the different committees,” Wojtal said when announcing Bratton’s retirement. “Unfortunately, due to COVID, we were unable to throw the party that Gwen deserves.”

Bratton’s last day was Dec. 18. She is succeeded by Kristin Morrison.
