An essential piece of managing a hospital is having an effective and responsive engineering team that can act and pivot with the ever-changing demands of patient care and facility management.

Patient care area updates, facility repairs and construction projects all require the expertise and skills of a strong engineering team. You may not see the work they do but our health care system wouldn’t function without these important team members. Here are just a few of some of their current projects:

  • The permit-approval phase is underway for the Maple Street Café refresh. We have an estimated start date of early March and the multiphase project should take approximately eight weeks to complete. We are excited for the whole new, updated dining environment that this project will create for our staff and the community we serve.
  • The gift shop has been relocated to the second floor, where it will have higher visibility and foot traffic. Lorry Shlitter and Rob Hibner will be partnering together to bring this new location online in the coming weeks. Lorry and Julie Hale have some exciting and innovative ideas to bring to the new shop! Many thanks to our physical therapy team, which has been instrumental in facilitating this move by relocating their patient supply and equipment storage to the old gift shop area downstairs.
  • Work continues behind the scenes on the Med Surg 1 refresh. An Asante project manager is working with clinical and facilities leaders and key stakeholders to plan and facilitate the project.
  • Facilities has been working hard to prepare for the opening of the new AACH Coumadin Clinic. They have been engaging with teams of painters, movers, locksmiths and others preparing the space for a March opening.
  • Electric vehicle charging stations are coming soon! Stay tuned for more information about availability and use.

As you can see, there is a lot going on at AACH that keeps our facilities and engineering teams busy! Sincere thanks to Rob Hibner, Neff Clark and the entire facilities and engineering team for their dedication to keeping our facilities and environment updated and safe. We see your hard work, and you are appreciated.
