Doug Ward takes on expanded role

As Asante Health Network continues to grow in strategic importance and value to the organization, Doug Ward has been named vice president of Asante Physician Partners and the Asante Health Network effective June 18.

Ward will oversee value-based contracts for both employed providers and those in Asante’s clinically integrated network. His new duties involve stewardship over the growth of AHN as well as market products such as AHNPlus, a value-based health care program for Rogue Valley employers.

He will continue in his role as the primary operational leader of APP, carrying responsibility for financial and operational performance of the employed medical group. In his dual role, Ward will be deeply involved in provider relationships, contract performance and the strategic direction of the physician enterprise at Asante.

Ward came to Asante in 2017 as director of Operations for APP primary care. In late 2019, he was named vice president of Operations for APP. He has held leadership positions in skilled nursing and subacute facilities as well as ambulatory surgery and clinic operations.

He holds a bachelor’s in business administration from Brigham Young University and a master’s in health administration from Regis University.
