To maintain good standing with DNV, our accreditation organization, and to get the health system back on track with annual surveys delayed during the pandemic, Asante will be surveyed twice in 2023. The first survey takes place Feb. 6–9, followed by a second survey in late summer.

DNV-surveyThe February survey will be virtual, with each entity being assigned a survey day. (Monday and Tuesday for ARRMC, Wednesday for ATRMC and Thursday for AACH.) System activities will be combined and surveyed together.

Although the survey is virtual, DNV surveyors will remote in on mobile tablets and be taken around the hospitals to conduct physical environment inspections and staff interviews.

Always answer a surveyor truthfully and to the best of your ability. We encourage you to share your stories, the things you and your unit are doing to provide high-quality care, and what makes your area and the care you deliver special.

DNV surveys are a team effort, and everyone plays a critical role in preparing. Here are a few key items to know or look for in your unit:

  • Understand the process for sequestration and reporting of medical device issues. Medical Device Tracking and Reporting 400-PE-0400.
  • The clearance from the top of shelves or stacked items to the ceiling must be at least 18 inches.
