Caught in the act of washing their hands

Employees earned coffee cards and a shot at a $100 gift card drawing for properly performing hand hygiene.
CNA Stephanie Wilson earned a coffee card.
Melissa Anderson, RN, in Neuro/Ortho, won a golden ticket.
Robert Bourland, an ED tech at ATRMC, also won a golden ticket.

Congratulations to three employees — Stephanie Nelson, Melissa Anderson and Robert Bourland — who won prizes for being observed properly performing hand hygiene.

As you may recall, earlier this year Asante Infection Prevention decided to sweeten the incentives for employees who are diligent about hand hygiene.

Managers provide on-the-spot recognition in the form of Take 5 cards to both floor and ancillary staff. Employees may redeem five Take 5 cards for a $10 coffee card to Infection Prevention. Those who redeem the cards are automatically entered in a semiannual drawing for a prize valued at $100.

Infection Prevention also offers on-the-spot recognition in the form of Caught in the Act candy bars. One of these will contain a “golden ticket” for a $10 coffee card.

Anyone interested in learning more or becoming a hand hygiene champion for their unit should email Serena Branson.
