Cancer services director to leave Asante
Maggie Schultz, who has led the department for more than three years, is relocating to Las Vegas.
Maggie Schultz, who joined Asante Rogue Regional in early 2018 as director of cancer services, is leaving the organization to pursue a new job opportunity in Las Vegas.
Kristi Blackhurst, vice president of operations for ARRMC and AACH, made the announcement to Asante leaders on Friday.
“In the three years that Maggie has been a part of the Asante leadership team, she has become a beloved member of the Asante family,” Blackhurst said. “She will be missed for her warmth, compassion, dedication to her team and to patients, and for her oncology expertise.”
Schultz replaced the late Sue Kilbourne as director of cancer services at ARRMC, overseeing radiation oncology, the cancer registration, GYN-oncology program and oncology nurse navigators among other disciplines. She was also a key team member in the development of the Heimann Cancer Center now under construction in Medford.
Her last day will be Aug. 20.
“In preparation for our exciting transition to the new cancer centers and our expanded cancer care offerings, we have redesigned the leadership structure for Asante Cancer Services,” Blackhurst said. “We will be immediately posting to fill these redesigned leadership roles.”

Maggie will most definitely be missed. Her passion for our cancer services department is so much greater than the leadership team realizes. It has been awhile that I have had a supervisor yet alone a director of a department who listens to each person who may just have a simple matter to something that can impact a department, Maggie has always made time in her busy schedule to make time for you. I only hope that whom ever takes over her position, that they truly know what it’s like to take charge of a cancer department and to have compassion & sympathy not only for the patients that are seen but to the people of the departments that make the department run smoothly daily.
