Asante bereavement committee seeks members

Employees from any discipline can help make grieving loved ones’ experience a little gentler.

The inpatient palliative care team at Asante Rogue Regional, along with Asante Hospice, have formed a bereavement committee and are looking for participants from a variety of disciplines to join.

The goal is to develop and standardize resources and support for those who have had a loved one die in the hospital as well as those who receive outpatient services from APP. Anyone within the Asante system with an interest in this committee is encouraged to reach out.

The group meets every two weeks with plans to hold quarterly meetings in the future. Anyone who is interested in or passionate about how Asante can better serve those at end of life and their families should contact the palliative care team at (541) 789-4352 or email Lauren Pollack, Sharon Krische or Lindsey Persinger.

I had a rough experience this year with the loss of my father. I would like to help with this committee. There are situations where some who have not experienced a death, have no compassion for the ones that have.
