A message to charge nurses

Sessions are planned to meet your counterparts from other hospitals and talk about our system-level vision for nursing.

As a charge nurse, you are essential, and the first line of leadership in your unit. Your direction helps set the tone and flow of the shift in your departments. Since you play such a vital role in daily operations, it is important to me to spend time with you and get to know more about the specifics in your departments. To this end, we will be holding charge nurse sessions next month.

I am excited to have charge nurses from all three facilities gather and collaborate toward system-level thinking and standardization processes. This will also allow you to meet your counterparts at the other two Asante hospitals, which could be an amazing opportunity to share ideas with one another.

In these meetings I will share with you my vision for nursing, Asante’s efforts to recruit and retain staff, and updates on initiatives and how they align with workflows. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and make suggestions for future discussion topics.

The charge nurse sessions begin in June, and will take place quarterly via a virtual platform until we are able to transition into in-person meetings. Below is a link where you may sign up for the sessions. Once you have signed up for the sessions, a calendar invitation will be sent to either your Asante Outlook or your personal e-mail if you prefer to attend from home. Attendance is not mandatory, but strongly encouraged.

I look forward to our time together and investing in your future development!
